CHAPTER 37; PULAU LAE-LAE

Always on the same day as in the previous section. After inspecting the building of Fort Rotterdam we returned to the island of Lae-lae, a small island about 1.5 km west of Makassar, which is part of the tourist area of the island. .

In addition to the island of Lae Lae, the tourist area of Makasara consists of many other small islands, such as Baranjaji Island, Kadingareng Keke Island, Baranglompo Island and Samalona Island. However, the most popular and visited are the island of Samalona and the islands of Lae-lae.

To cross the island of Lae Lae, we can board a fishing boat around the pier Kai Bangkoa on Jalan Pasar Ikan №. From the bridge in front of number 28 or Fort Rotterdam the fare for travelers is between Rs 15,000 and Rs 30,000 per person (depending on your ability to trade).

We rent a small fishing boat with 6-8 passengers, but even if your group is less than 6 people, they will still have to cross, so you do not need to worry :)

Finally, after a long negotiation process, we were charged only Rs 10,000 per person per trip, so the total cost of arrival and departure was Rs 20,000 per person (we are not required to pay here for all bikes).

Hmmm ... it turns out even fully loaded bikes are hard and exhausting to transport on a boat, no wonder on the way to Gili Trawanga the porters carrying our bikes said, “Oooh, bikes are so heavy”. all the bikes arrived, a couple of boats set off for the island of Lae-lae

The time it takes to cross Lae Lae Island is about 15 minutes, which can be a little scary for those who can easily feel the sea on a fishing boat being tossed by the waves but thinking it’s in the park childishly. excitement :)

And finally, we arrive on the island of Lae-Lae, but for Mbaka Darna, who is afraid to board the ship, this "torture" is not over, because then comes the return: D

The island of Lae-lae is a small island of 6.5 hectares, home to about 400 families or more than 2,000 fishermen, so it is called a fishing village. However, the island has ample places for tourists, which cost between Rs 50 and Rs 150,000 per day, and places to eat, although not as luxurious as Gili Trawangan. available to visitors to this island.

In fact, on the island of Lae-lae there are remnants of war, an underground culture that, according to the history of the underground community, is associated with Fort Rotterdam, I don’t know if this is true news. It was simply due to the negligence of the reserve management and the local community, and now it has closed and disappeared and has been littered with piles of rubbish by residents, if properly managed these historic sites and the existence of this island, it becomes an island. a natural tourist destination that cannot maintain its beauty potential at the required level. - Another small island was already a guest

The walkway and the blue-green gradation of the beach, reminiscent of the view of the large white sand on the Gili Trawangan, is pleasant, looks dirty and close to the large amount of rubbish left by visitors and other rubbish carried away. Although the island is relatively close and easily accessible from the center of Makassar, in the future the island should be able to compete with other small islands that are properly managed. The conscience of the citizens and the authorities is even better to maintain and preserve the cleanliness of this beach.

Anyway, on the island of Lae-lae you can do these activities for connoisseurs of scuba diving and diving, although now many coral reefs are beginning to be damaged, but at least they are beginning to attract attention. and help from different sides. still trying to preserve the charm of the coral reefs around the island

Satisfied with our trip and vacation on the island of Lae Lae, it's time to return to Makassar after contact with the ship's father, our work is over and we are ready to meet again, then begins the next "torture" for "Mbak Darna" and the last, haha .. . :)

When we reached the first overpass, the goal of our next adventure was to drive south to the Barombong area, which is now under intensive construction (there is potential for those who want to move to Makassar. Choose accommodation).

What is happening in and around Barombonga? Keep watching the next chapter of the adventures of Goweswisata.blogspot.co.id, always from the city of Makassar, let's have fun and make this trip unforgettable.
